In addition to "shuddering", the car at times will fail to accelerate, causing a potential hazardous situation to myself, passengers and other drivers on the road. The also stated on occasion she had to depressed the accelerator pedal with force for the vehicle to go but it would not accelerated. Reliability: used to break down a lot but is okay now. Nissan has had at least 3 recalls on the transmission.
The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. When the vehicle was turned off, it failed to restart; however, the electrical system was still operable. While driving, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. It gets really good gas mileage and has a good resale value. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000. I used it for Uber / Lyft etc.
I mean overall it is an inexpensive car that does the job but it is a basic model so don't expect nothing extra. The car itself is very comfortable to be in and to drive as well.
Notifications like the air in a tire needs to be filled. It does not speed up very quickly, but does have amazing gas mileage.

Makes me very concerned about getting on a highway and my transmission failing to switch to higher gears and other cars hitting me for not being able to go into faster speeds. So far, it has run almost perfectly (with oil changes, new tires, etc.). We review every problem as we work to keep our roads safe. I got this car new and every year since owning this car there has been a issue with the transmission. Safe and comfortable ride with phenomenal gas mileage. Lately as I am driving the car, the rpm goes up and refuses to go down, unless i let go of the gas or put the car in neutral.
This is causing unsafe driving conditions. One of the most dependable and reliable vehicles that I have ever owned. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired.
When going up/down a hill, my car does not realize it needs to shift.
I also believe that these failures represent a significant safety hazard and the research I done indicates this particular problem is widespread.
The gas mileage is excellent for highway driving. Has basic features like radio and power windows. Decent size trunk.
On several occasions, the car has failed to accelerate, and I have almost been "t-boned" at busy intersections. I love this car. I like that the back seats can go all the way forward down for more room.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa. The front bumper is falling off too and the hood will not close all the way. Great car, reliable with almost no issues nearly 150k miles into driving. The only issue I have had is an exhaust leak and needing a front end alignment. It is very good on gasoline and requires very little maintenance. I love my car, but it is the most base model ever. There's a class action lawsuit pending against Nissan for this cvt problem with this particular model. At 122,500, the transmission has failed again.
Aw. It was replaced with a re-manufactured cvt transmission under warranty. I spoke directly with markita scott, arbitration specialist (615-725-7884). The vehicle is not even at the 50k miles yet.

The Nissan versa note is a fantastic little hatchback for doing errands ( including picking up flea market stuff). No apple car okay though.Doesn't have Bluetooth for phone.
I love how much I can fit in the back. Overall the car has the basic features: alarm, aux, USB, key lock doors.
I like that it is on the smaller side but it can still comfortably fit 5 people and suitcases.
The ride is okay. The most user complaints regarding h transmission is the transmission failure, the transmission struggling to get into gear, and a lack of acceleration. Acceleration is a bit slow, when you need to go fast. I am concerned about its transmission as I heard there was a recall.
My issue with this car would be that I am having major transmission issues. She didn't seem to really care about the safety aspect, and stated Nissan would not do anything for me even though this new transmission failed at just 55,000 miles.
One of the last years with significant issues in the Versa model is the 2014 year, with the most user complaints involving the transmission, ad the most NHTSA complaints regarding the drivetrain. Engineered well and very safe. Seats could be a little more comfortable. While driving 75 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle decelerated. The original cvt transmission failed at 65,000 and the replacement cvt transmission is now failing. The CVT transmission takes a bit of getting used to.
