The company will stream six performances from March 27 to April 10. The Bolshoi will be streaming its performances on YouTube for the first time ever starting Friday, it has announced in a joint statement with Google, which owns the video platform.

The Bolshoi Theatre and ABBYY finalized results of a crowdsourcing international project “Open Bolshoi History”. Russia’s Bolshoi Theater has launched a streaming service with some of its most popular opera and ballet performances, also known as the “Golden Collection,” on its official YouTube channel.
ABBYY’s intellectual technologies and over 7,800 project participants from 60 countries helped to extract, digitize and organize data based on 48,000 posters, 120,000 brochures and 100,000 photos of theatre museum collection, which has been accumulated during 200 years.
