The entire cast is flawless, especially Ernest Borgnine and Lee Marvin as the mean-spirited town bullies, and the relentlessly paced action never eclipses the film's sobering themes.

John Sturges's 1955 film "Bad Day at Black Rock" sets Spencer Tracy against a barren desert landscape in this beautifully filmed widescreen Technicolor thriller. It's an outstanding thriller. August 15, 2020 This is an excellent tense, taunt, short film of only 81 minutes. A middle-aged butcher and a school teacher who have given up on the idea of love meet at a dance and fall for each other.
